Good evening, gents. Let us finish the week stronger than the USA men’s soccer team did….that is all.

In this week’s newsletter, we’ll get into:

  • Why you have to grow on your own first

  • The standard: never stop growing

  • One move to make this week

THE WORD
“If you want an A+ marriage, you both can’t be C+ people.”

I saw this on Rachel Cruze’s (Dave Ramsey’s daughter) Instagram this week and thought it really hit the nail on the head.

She said this was the best marriage advice she had ever received.

The rest of the post went on to say “the healthier you are as an individual, the healthier your marriage will be. Your spouse isn’t responsible for your happiness. They can’t heal your wounds or become the person that “completes” you. Healthy marriages happen when two healthy people choose each other every day.

She ends by saying “The best thing you can do for your marriage is never stop growing. Emotionally. Spiritually. Financially. Your marriage will be stronger because of it.”

THE STANDARD
Never stop growing.

This has to be a rule we live by.

Think of it like a boat. If both people keep rowing toward the same point on the horizon, the trip gets better. But if one person stops rowing - or worse, you start rowing in different directions - you're not going anywhere good.

Keep rowing. Keep growing.

THE MOVE
Pick one area of growth. Then run at it this week.

Don't try to fix everything at once. Pick just one:

  • Emotional: Talk to someone about something you've been carrying

  • Spiritual: Open your Bible or sit in quiet for 10 minutes a day

  • Financial: Look at one number you've been avoiding. Your savings. Your debt. Your budget.

Pick the one that's been nagging at you the most. Then take one small step today. Not next month. Today.

Know a man who'd find this useful? Forward this to him.

Hold the line,
