Good evening, lads. Let’s just get right into something that has been on my mind this week. And that is: nobody accidentally becomes a strong Christian.
You become that way through what you repeatedly do.
I recently heard Pastor Michael Koulianos answer this question:
“What habits slowly form someone into a strong Christian over decades?”
Key word: DECADES.
The men we admire most weren't built in 30 days. They were formed over 30 years.
Koulianos pointed to a few things that do the forming:
Get alone with God.
Not just when you need something. Build a life that regularly returns to the quiet.Treat Scripture like food.
We consume podcasts, reels, newsletters and books all day. But Jesus called God's Word bread. What you consume eventually becomes part of you.Don't do it alone.
Find a church. Find spiritual leadership. Find men further down the road. You don't have to invent the path.Take care of your family.
Your wife and kids aren't distractions from becoming the man you're supposed to be. They're a huge part of how you become him.
Given all of this, this is what I am going to be thinking on this week:
If you repeated your current habits for the next 20 years, who would they turn you into?
Inspired by a teaching from Pastor Michael Koulianos of Jesus Image Church.
Know a man who'd find this useful?
Forward this to him.
Hold the line,
-Collier
