QUOTE

“Remember, nobody cares about your career as much as you do.”—Chris Kempczinski, CEO, McDonald’s

Yes, having a great boss is an advantage. But they have their own careers too - so don’t assume there will always be someone there to walk you to your next opportunity.

That isn’t to say nobody will ever care about your career. It’s simply that nobody will care about it more than you do.

That’s actually pretty freeing, if you ask me.

It may sound harsh, but in the business world, understanding this sooner rather than later is vital for long-term career progression.

It feels good to hear a boss promise a promotion or hint at future opportunities - but until there’s something to sign, it doesn’t mean much.

Because of that, it’s just a good rule of thumb to stay proactive at all times. Grow. Network. Learn new skills. Take calculated risks.

You never know when the next opportunity will come knocking.

Will you be ready?

WISDOM

God will use you how he uniquely made you.

Run your race. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Enjoy the journey.

It’s incredibly easy to get caught up in what others are doing - comparing where you are to where they are.

When you find yourself in that headspace, remember how uniquely God designed you. Follow the One who created you. Only in Him will you find the race you were meant to run.

I like how Preston Perry puts it:

“Boldness is not doing what you are afraid to do. Boldness is about obedience. It is about doing what God told you to do.”

Obedience is the key.

Stay close to the source. “Acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:6)

ACTION

Before bed, ask your kids “what was the last good moment you had today?”

This helps close the loop on their day and allows their brain to shift toward rest.

Family coach Scott Donnell has shared how this practice (used by Finnish parents) has helped reduce anxiety in kids and teens by up to 80%.

The brain needs a signal that the day is over.

We don’t want our kids falling asleep stuck in comparison, frustration, or unresolved moments.

Of course, we still help them process hard things. But to close the page on the day, this is a powerful and simple way to do it.

Give it a try.

14-DAY ACCOUNTABILITY SPRINT (Free for Subscribers)

The 14-Day Accountability Sprint is a private, text-based check-in designed to help you keep your word for 14 days straight.

This is included because you’re a subscriber.

No coaching.
No motivation speeches.

Just a short, structured sprint where you set one clear commitment and someone notices if you don’t follow through.

If you opt in, you’ll receive simple & brief daily check-ins for 14 days. That’s it.
