A weekly brief for men building careers and families.

Whatup fam. Happy hump day. Went to an outdoor concert with the wifey this past weekend for the first time in a hot minute. Brought back good memz to when I first caught feelings for my now wife at an outdoor Dave Matthews Band concert in Chicago years ago. Had me in my feelz a bit. -C

01 - The Core 🎯

One principle to carry into the week.

THE QUOTE

“The slacker craves, yet has nothing, but the diligent is fully satisfied.”

Proverbs 13:4

THE TAKE

This Proverb hit me a little different this week.

To be fully transparent, I had been feeling anxious and a bit overwhelmed with some financial goals we have been desiring and just down about it because we aren’t where we want to be.

A common theme in my life lately has been trying to shorten the gap between having an idea and actually acting on it.

And my lack of diligence has been the barrier to a lot of the things I say I want.

I’ll go hard at something for a few months - then get complacent, tired, or distracted. It turns into a back-and-forth cycle that keeps me stuck.

Michael Scott gets it.

But those complacent seasons are usually where the real growth is either won or lost.

So here’s to locking in even when you are not motivated, or when you don’t feel like it, or when you think things are just OK.

THE MOVE

The days you don’t feel motivated still count. Those are deposits into the bank account of compounding growth.

Know a man who'd find this useful? Forward this to him.

Hold the line,
