The 2-minute weekly newsletter for faith-driven dads in business who refuse to drift.

Yo. February showed up fast.

Which means one of three things is probably true about your goals:

  1. You’re still doing what you said you’d do in January.

  2. You’re doing some of it.

  3. You quietly stopped keeping score.

No judgment. Just reality.

One of the reasons Elite Dads Weekly exists is to close the gap between intention and execution.

That same gap is what led me to build Daymark—a simple daily accountability framework I’ll be rolling out more intentionally this year.

More soon.

Let’s get into it.

QUOTE

“Whenever I'm about to do something, I think, ‘Would an idiot do that?’ And if they would, I do not do that thing.” — Dwight Schrute

Simple yet profound.

We’ve all made bone-headed mistakes. This is a cheat code to not make those mistakes again.

Also, this framework:

  1. Makes decision-making easier,

  2. Is wife & kids-approved, and

  3. Could maybe land you on the Forbes 40 Under 40 list.

So you might as well give it a try this week.

Thanks, Dwight!

WISDOM

Consistency is about being adaptable.

This goes hard.

There have undoubtedly been seasons of my life when I have not been consistent in my follow-through (still something I wrestle with).

Historically, I would take the old black and white approach of “well, if I miss a day, then my plan is shot, and I might as well not continue.

Let’s just call that mentality for what it is . . . broke.

As dads, things (whether minor or major) are going to inevitably slip through the cracks. Life has too many variables during this season of life (esp with young kids) to not have regular disruptions.

That is why this nugget from my boi JC hits.

This is about being consistent in the disruptions - and as Clear points out - adapting to accomplish the easiest version of whatever goal, resolution, task, or commitment you’ve set for yourself.

The point is to train your mind and body to keep stacking days, even if it means defaulting to the easiest, lowest-friction version of the habit.

Habit formation during times of variability is a high-value skill (and one I need to practice).

ACTION

Complete then delete.

To-do lists can be stressful.

Tasks that pile up on your to-do list are also stressful and a pain.

Doing the task so you can delete it from your brain & have that stress melt away = priceless.

Your weekly reminder. Just do the task.

7-DAY ACCOUNTABILITY SPRINT (Free for Subscribers)

The 7-Day Accountability Sprint is a private, text-based check-in designed to help you start keeping your word again—one day at a time.

This is optional, and included because you’re a subscriber.

No coaching.
No motivation speeches.
No group therapy.

Just a short, structured on-ramp where you set one clear daily commitment—and someone notices if you don’t follow through.

If you opt in, you’ll receive brief daily check-ins for 7 days.
That’s it.
