The 2-minute weekly newsletter for faith-driven dads in business who refuse to drift.

Gentlemen,

Welcome back.

A lot has happened since we last talked - most notably a new job and career pivot that took the better part of this year to get acclimated to.

Fast forward a few months, and I felt the pull to return to the regular programming of Elite Dads Weekly. Not because it was convenient - but because there are two critical areas in my life that need to be fed:

  1. Having an outlet: For me, creativity can’t be optional. Writing, playing music, building something - it’s a must. When I don’t make time for it, there’s a dullness that shows up everywhere else. I feel it quickly.

  2. Having accountability: Every real breakthrough I’ve had - spiritually, physically, professionally - came down to one thing:

Someone noticing if I didn’t follow through.

That’s it.

Different contexts, different seasons - but the common thread was accountability. And when I stepped away from EDW, it clicked: of course I didn’t stay consistent. No one was watching. It was just me.

So this year, those two things - an outlet and accountability - are non-negotiables. And I’m glad you’re along for the journey.

You’ll hear more about the accountability piece below, but because you’re a subscriber, you now get access to something new:

QUOTE

“The work begins when the motivation ends.”—Alex Hormozi

High-performing men (or men who want to be) don’t need more motivation. We need to consistently take action.

This is a hard lesson, and one I need daily reminders of.

It’s easy to feel motivated and think you’re doing the thing. In reality, you’re often just feeding dopamine - convincing yourself you’re moving the needle when you’re not.

Here’s the hard truth: Most real progress happens when you aren’t motivated.

What happens when you take action anyway:

  • You build the muscle — physically, emotionally, spiritually

  • You gain credibility when giving advice

  • You make your future self proud of what you did today

TL;DR: Take action in an unmotivated state more often.

WISDOM

Follow the 1,000-minute rule

Treat your time like money and life becomes more relative.

This idea comes from an interview Codie Sanchez did with Ryan Serhant. The premise is simple: if you have 1,000 productive minutes per day, treat them like $1,000 in a daily time account.

It changes how you view interruptions - and bad days.

If one call, let’s say, ruins your mood and takes 5 minutes, would you throw away the remaining $995? Probably not.

Yet how often do we let something small knock us out of our zone for hours?

This mindset helps you zoom out - and respond instead of react.

ACTION

Don’t wait until January 1. Start now.

The greatest threat to where you want to be tomorrow is to delay today.

As men with families, we know all too well the days are long but the years are short. Make today count.

Here are some helpful tips:

  • Identify the thing you have been putting off.

  • Do said thing as soon as you possibly can.

  • When fear, insecurity, or other excuses show up . . . still do said thing.

  • Repeat.
